Our partners at CAME (Exodus Migrant Shelter) in Agua Prieta have seen a dramatic increase in guests needing a safe and welcoming space. Over the past year, they have frequently housed, fed, and provided orientation and accompaniment to as many as 200 children, women, and men at any one time. But CAME’s maximum capacity is 44 and working with their parish they have done an amazing job of expanding that capacity.

Frontera de Cristo’s Board of Directors has approved a $46,000 capital campaign to support the CAME to more than double their capacity to provide hospitality from 44 persons to 100 persons. Any funds raised over $46,000 will be designated for the Migrant Resource Center and other needs of families in transit. At the present time, CAME continues providing hospitality for the 11 families (20 children and 14 adults) currently in its facility, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they are not yet able to accept new persons. We hope that soon they will be able to accept new guests.
